When you drive a Jaguar car, you know that performance was a priority in its design. So it’s no surprise to all of us here at Jaguar Northfield that one of these vehicles could serve as a basis for an incredible racecar. The Jaguar F-Type SVR GT4 is hitting the track for a great cause this season.
The Jaguar brand has been a big presence in the racing world, but it’s been a while since a production-based Jaguar racecar made its mark on the track. This model is based on the 2018 Jaguar F-Type, obviously, but it’s received a few upgrades from the Special Vehicle Operations division. It now meets the highest GT4 standards.
This new Jaguar racecar will be rear-wheel drive and come equipped with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that might need to be adjusted for racing. Of course, new brakes, tires, and a tuned-up suspension are also in the mix. This racecar will be able to travel at 200 miles per hour. That’s no surprise considering the Jaguar brand’s performance pedigree. What may surprise you is who’s driving it.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR GT4 will be driven by a team of injured military serviceman. This is all thanks to a partnership with Invictus Games Racing, which puts on athletic competitions for wounded warriors. With some help from experienced racecar drivers, these veterans will get to see what a Jaguar car is really capable of.
